Over 24 years ago, beginning the practice of Yoga opened my eyes, including the third!; overcoming personal challenges and traumas, teaching me to move from (over)thinking to feeling. I use my own healing to bring my empathic and intuitive nature to my work. I am a passionate licensed massage therapist and registered 200hr yoga teacher. I completed my massage therapy training at Great Lakes Institute of Technology, graduating in December 2022. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology and an Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology. I studied at Konalani Yoga Ashram on the main island of Hawaii to complete my Hatha Yoga teacher training in the fall of 2017. More about that later!
I am a lover of nature and nourish my soul with the outdoors as often as possible. With our beautiful Lake Erie and woods nearby, I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and paddleboarding. Good food and music is also a must. Especially in extreme weather areas, we can experience stagnant energy, especially in this winter season. Adding massage and yoga to your wellness routine is a great way to get rid of the blahs.
I first attended yoga when I was a runner and rock climber in my early 20's, thinking I would add guided stretching to my regular lifting routine. I quickly came to realize that my nervous system and emotional regulation was really the focus of the classes for me. I had been through a traumatic relationship and injury prior, and suddenly yoga allowed me to deal with all the things I had not dealt with. I never expected a 'workout' to do that. I cried a lot during the first sessions, learning to 'drop in' to my body, not yet fully realizing how the connection of depth with movement was opening my spirit to new things, to learning I was stronger than I thought and that I was developing a true passion for something that fed me creatively in a way I had not experienced before, and still do. I was living in a chaotic world and finally allowing myself to go within and settle into my groove made any day much better after yoga. It can get rid of unwanted energy, mental, emotional, and physical. Sleeping better is a great side effect of regular practice. Yoga is way more than just a workout- it's a lifestyle, a perspective change, and an opening into your life journey. As a huge music lover as well, I enjoy choreographing amazing music to yoga, and feel the right beats put you in the right perspective for the perfect practice. I also love collaboration with others, and throughout the winter, you will see special classes added with this feature.
